Each fall I try to go into one of Colorado's many National Forests to capture the aspen leaf change. Pike National is the closest to me and my favorite. The aspen clusters are brilliant and present many photo opportunities. My favorite method is to shoot into the sun ("contre-jour") partially hiding the sun and using a narrow aperture to create a sunburst effect. The translucent leaves also glow as the light filters through them.
