Whenever I go to The Garden of the Gods I usually carry my DSLR camera but on Labor Day, 2013 I found myself there with only my smartphone. I had been experimenting with the panorama mode of the phone's camera and had been quite surprised by how well it performed. It is a sweep-type function, not one that is stitched. With a model perched atop a sandstone rock facing the afternoon sun and with Cheyenne Mountain (of NORAD and tracking Santa Claus' journey fame)in the background, I slowly panned the landscape. With a little tweaking in Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5 I obtained the resulting image.
