After a grueling off-trail bushwack up to a granite dome called Devils Dancefloor I made my way up to the top of El Capitan. I had just enough time to set up camp and set up my tripod as a storm front carrying rain, hail, and lightning moved in from the south rim and settled over Half Dome and the High Country peaks. As the sun began to set I decided to try a ponoramic seemingly appropriate for this huge vista. It was just too huge to fit in one capture! The clouds lit up with a bright pink hue, trademark of the higher elevations, and I snapped four shots panning the entire scape.
