This is the Cooper Spur area on the north side of Mt. Hood in Oregon. Even when I was really young in the days of film I have always enjoyed the somber moodiness in an image created by a lit up, colorful tent under a night sky. The wispy clouds in the picture were a sign of things to come. Soon after I captured this the winds came up very stong and I spent most of the night trying to keep from being blown off the mountain! As soon as it was light I beat a hasty retreat!
