As a new photographer last winter I wasn't prepared properly for the cold and as a result my images were few. This year, I came prepared with down outerwear, traction devices, thermal underwear and as a result I was able to stay out in the field as long as I wanted. Through Arizona and Colorado and Utah I traveled. I had a spectacular winter season photographically. By far, this shot close to home is my favorite. I hiked in right after a snow storm, not a soul around, to find pristine snow. I love the offset of the dark browns and slick texture the creek reflection brings to this soft sweet winter image.
