It was a brisk cool morning at Sprague Lake. I drove into Rocky Mountain National Park, racing to get to the lake before sunrise. As I parked, I saw about 15 other cars and was hoping I could find my way to the lake in the dark with my trusty headlight! Fortunately, a couple other photographers were making their way around the lake, so I followed along. Several clouds blanketed the peaks and I tried navigating to a "good" spot. I had never been to this lake before, so wasn't quite sure where the nice composition areas would be located. As the sun came up over the horizon, a few colors appeared in the clouds, but I moved to several locations, before stopping here with a few rocks for some foreground interest. I loved this spot with the reflections in the water and the sun just lighting up the few areas on the mountainside. Definitely a serene place to visit with its crisp mountain air and the sounds of the birds and trickling river leading into this lake!
