After a deep snow the night before I ventured out on 16 February 2015 hoping to capture some images of Garden of the Gods as the snowstorm clouds would begin to dissipate. However, another bank of storm clouds enveloped the area and more snow began to fall - quite heavily. Beneath the muted grey sky and behind the falling snow the ghostly shapes of the red sandstone rocks were still evident, even the Kissing Camels can be seen on the right. I pulled into the Mesa Road overlook and to protect my equipment I shot this photograph from my car. The green yuccas and shrubs in the mid ground added a touch of color to the otherwise monochromic landscape.
