Just past Government Camp on Mt. Hood comes an exit sign for the White River West Sno-Park. A trek uphill from the parking lot takes you along many hillsides full of sledders and other winter weather revelers, with many great vantage points.
I had aimed to get some great shots of the peak of Mt. Hood if I found the right vantage point that day. I found a few good spots for a photograph but the fog was very uncooperative and rolling through every few minutes so thick that the top of the mountain was lost. Looking around during one of the fog-filled lulls I turned a 180 and could see the beauty of the silhouetted trees and full sun behind the fog covering the hill behind me. I took a few bracketed shots knowing I would have to blend exposures to make the hillside more visible beneath the fog.
