Not THAT Island In The Sky, this is Moran Point at the Grand Canyon. A gray rainy day was finally clearing up. I had hoped for thunderstorms (forecast said 70% chance) but instead I got Seattle weather. As the storm broke the canyon would fill with fog in a matter of seconds. I missed a number of shots because I set up a tripod-that's how fast conditions changed. I was trying to shoot the rocky point with the red rock formations and clouds behind it, but the fog was faster than me. By the time my tripod was set up it was already rising up behind the rocks. I got off 4 shots before there was nothing but fog to see. I like the effect, however, gives it an ethereal feel.
