While on a safari in the Samburu Intrepid Wildlife Preserve in Central Kenya this summer, we were driving through the Preserve when way off (100 yards) in the distance we spotted a mother cheetah and her two cubs sleeping in the shade. We stopped and watched for about 20 minutes but they were too far out of range to get a good shot. Disappointed, we were getting ready to drive off, when they suddenly woke up, stood and started walking toward us. Feeling frisky, one of the cubs (left) rose up and smacked his mother (right) on top of her head with his paw, while the second cub (middle, laying down) looked on, appearing to say "Awwww, you're in trouble!" I ended up taking nearly 60 frames as they approached and walked right by our vehicle, but this one is special.
