On a fall morning we were photographing deer out in an open meadow in Cades Cove. The deer were very used to people and allowed us to get fairly close. After awhile the deer started to act a bit spooked and when I looked on the horizon towards the tree line I could see "Mac Daddy" come out of the woods and he had everyones undivided attention. This buck though protected in the Smoky's would be considered quite a trophy by most hunters. It was quite a treat to watch this specimen mingle with the rest of the deer, unfazed by our presence.
