Description
Hiking the Fryrear canyon Sage Ranch Road arm is a small fraction of the history of the Central Oregon canyon lands. The walls are of volcanic origin and many are fractured by earthquakes and glacier action. This canyon also sits on a lightning storm track and there are many small fires set over the ages. because it is now a desert situation nothing grows fast or disintegrates fast. This tree was probably burned in the 50's or 60's it is one of many burned juniper skeletons in the area.
