Southeast from Columbus, Ohio on State Route 33, 45 minutes to an hour to Hocking Hills State Park, just west of Logan, Ohio. Ilesboro Road is down the road off of State Route 374 from The Inn at Cedar Falls.
Be careful when photographing along these roads. Very limited areas where you can pull off and park. Locals tend to drive these roads very fast and are not use to photographers, mainly because most people choose to photograph the often-visited waterfalls within the park. Locals are pretty particular about their property too and sometimes think you're someone else other than just a nature photographer. However, scenes such as this, which is a public road, are just too hard to resist.
I love photographing the rural routes that criss-cross the ridges and valleys of the Hocking Hills region of Southeastern Ohio. Ilesboro Road is my favorite road for rural landscapes, particularly at sunrise in spring. Here there's a beautiful, upward curve in the road. Oftentimes this particular valley road is covered in morning mist, making sunrises even more dramatic.
