On one of my many trips to the Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge to photograph the sandhill cranes I captured this image of a tree lit up in the golden light of sunset. This particular evening was not very productive for photography since it was so overcast. While waiting for the sandhill cranes to come in to roost, there was a momentary break in the clouds, and the setting sun bathed the area around this tree in the sunset glow. Luckily, I had my telephoto lens for bird photography, so I was able to photograph this tree in the distance.
