An 18mm lens was used to emphasize the leading lines of the water reflection and marsh grasses to the Sawtooth peaks in the distance. The cloud formation also benefited from the lens, as they seem to converge over the peaks. Only a wide angle lens could accomplish this. For this shot I used a polarizing lens to reduce glare off the foliage, then turned the polarizer "off" to render the reflection and sky without the polarization effect. The 2 images were merged in processing. This method avoids the sky color shift often exhibited with wide angle lenses that include blue skies, and renders reflections more naturally.
