This view in Idaho's Sawtooth Wilderness instantly reminded me of the iconic perspective found in Yosemite Valley. Often after traveling to a location with great anticipation and expectations, the reality doesn't quite hold up in the images captured especially when travel plans are made months ahead of time. Rarely is there a chance for multiple visits as one can do on home turf. I hiked out to these marsh lands just after the 1st high elevation snows to try and capture the colorful foliage in contrast to the peaks. It took hours for the fog to clear, this image coming when the peaks finally made their grand appearance. I had hoped more snow would remain up high, but 70 degree temps the following day and not conducive to snowy scenes. Great satisfaction when it all works out.
