Autumn Sunrise

On a cold November morning I went out to the Hot Creek Geologic site to shoot the creek as it wound its way through the site. As I parked my car in the parking lot, my eyes were drawn to the mountain behind me and the way the light was hitting them from the side and how interesting the textures were in the clouds. I cast aside my prior plans and knew this was the shot I had been looking for this morning and hurried to get to a spot that would afford me my vision quest.

All the best laid plans need to have the ability to adapt and improvise to take in the conditions and scene that are presented.
