This shot is taken from the Acatenango volcano (13045 ft) looking down to the Fuego volcano (a few hundred feet lower at 12346 ft), a lava flow running down its side. The summits were above a sea of clouds, suddenly lighten by the rising moon. A fantastic view, but difficult conditions, because of the bitter cold and high winds (everyone else had gone to the relative warmth of their sleeping bag already!). Even though the resolution is not so good I love this picture and the memory of the place. Unfortunately I have heard the hike up is not as safe now, even with a guide. There were reports of assaults on tourists.
