Description

Upper Tahquamenon Falls in Tahquamenon Falls State Park, Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The falls are over 200 feet across with almost a 50 foot drop. The falls look good any time of year with autumn and winter being my favorite seasons. Early October is best for fall colors. This photo was taken October 8. There are several excellent viewpoints along the trails, including one from river level below the falls and another viewpoint right from the lip of the falls. The "tea color" of the water is from tannin in the soil.
