It's currently the Spring season here in Northern Minnesota and the rivers and streams are just starting to open up. I had gone down to the Prairie River the other evening at sunset. With this assignment in mind, I was hoping to catch some water fowl or other wildlife in action. I had sat there on the bank for quite some time with no photo ops to be had. Just as the sun was dropping behind the trees, I spotted this Trumpeter Duo flying low down the river towards me. The chance of getting a good image in the shadows would be very slim, but I knew they had to rise to clear the bridge just to my left and hopefully catch the back light. Being at the right place at the right time, prepared and a lot of luck, worked out for me this time.
