The Sierra Buttes are the smallest mountain range in the country comprising of a few jagged and gorgeous peaks. Upper Sardine Lake butts up to the beginning of North Butte Peak. I had to wake up at 4 am and drive from Reno, NV to ensure I gave myself enough time to capture the a reflection in the morning calm. Although the morning was not as calm as I could have liked, I was able to find a cove somewhat sheltered from wind giving me this composition. With all the clouds in the air and soft light, I felt a black and white might make for the appropriate presentation of this wonderful place.
