The steep walls of North Cheyenne Canon and its narrow passageway block much of the daytime sun from reaching the creek which runs through the canyon. Therefore, the snow lingers longer. Near the top of the canyon is Helen Hunt Falls but downstream there are many small waterfalls as the creek flows downward. These are punctuated by pools and rocks upon which the snow often gathers making wintertime perfect for intimate landscape images.
