After a 20 mile drive through a snow storm and two cold nights in a cabin in the woods in Fairbanks, Alaska, James and I weren't sure if we were going to see the magic of the Aurora Borealis in 2013. But we had faith... And then... after battling minus 35 degree temperatures, nature came through on Christmas Eve with its own spectacular rendering of the dance of sugar plum fairies. We were blessed to have two wondrous nights back to back and our faith paid off as Christmas glowed and drifted through the sky in bright green, soft yellow and subtle deep purple. And according to our local host, we witnessed the Aurora Waltz on two of only three performances in December. And we thought that was absolutely "stellar"!
