A frozen waterfall is Southeastern Iceland

Description

Basalt columns lead into frozen rocks covered in ice at the bottom of Svartifoss Waterfall in Southeastern Iceland. This is about a 3 mile round trip hike along a slippery walkway in the Skaftafell National Park. It can easily be accomplished with a pair of crampons. I really love the shapes it creates with the curve of the unfrozen water leading into the frozen icicles at the base of the rocks. The juxtaposition of the hard and soft compliment one another.
