When preparing for this journey, I diligently monitored the weather, trying to predict the right morning to come to Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. I had planned on the morning before this shot and changed plans last minute due to the forecast. There was to be snow and clouds for most of that morning. I had one more day and hoped for the best. Driving up to this site well before sunrise, I could tell it was going to be unpredictable due to the low layer of clouds just at the horizon. It wasn't until the sun crested the low bank of clouds that I knew I had chosen the right morning! I felt so fortunate to witness such amazing transformations in the clouds and fog...I just hoped I could capture the essence of this spectacular morning!
