Twice a year in March and September the West mitten casts in shadow on the East mitten. Photographers flock to this location to photograph this phenomenon. I was determined to try and capture a unique and signature image. The unfortunate construction going on at the old campground provided a fortunate pool of water from a recent downpour. I lay on the ground in the mud to get everything to line up perfectly. The clouds and the setting sun cooperated at the last moment.
