Starting with a simple point and shoot (a Kodak Disc Camera) as a 10-year-old kid, I started taking a keen interest in photography. One rainy day on a vacation in 1989, I asked my dad to show me how his SLR camera worked. So he gave me a 101 on the basics of photography and how a camera works. He was quite surprised that a 13-year-old boy would have such interest. Soon after he gave me my first SLR (a Nikon FE2), and I grew my passion from there. Today, I shoot with Canon equipment and work to find the art in everyplace I go. My work has been recognized in awards competitions and published in various magazines and publications. Outside of my photography, I am married to my wife for 19 years who encourages me and helps me find some great photographic opportunities. I also have two dogs who keep me very busy. Professionally I am the Chief Marketing Officer for the commercial law firm of Gray Reed.
