2011 “Footsteps” Workshops
Cambria, San Simeon, Morro Bay CA / April 15-18, 2011 / $550 / Workshop
Right in the middle of the wildflower season, this place offers rolling, green hills, rugged coastal scenes. Also, an amazing variety of birds, otters and seals. It’s obvious why William Randolph Hearst chose this location for his unbelievable home…..the famed Hearst Castle. Here’s a few of the shots from last year. There’s plenty of hotels and B&B’s right nearby. We’ll have a house in Cambia where we’ll conduct the classroom sessions, do digital slide shows, image critiques, etc. Call our studio for more info on the workshop.
Eastern Sierra Workshop / Bishop Canyon / Mountain Lakes Streams and Wildflowers / July 15-18, 2011 / $550
The perfect time of year to be shooting in the legendary high country of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Our group will be based at Parcher’s Resort which is located right on Bishop Creek, just about a mile downstream from South Lake. Rustic mountain cabins with all the conveniences are available, or you can rough it, at a nearby campground. The folks at Parcher’s always go the extra mile to make our stay more enjoyable.
Located within a short drive of 3 magnificent high sierra lakes, and numerous streams and wildflower-filled meadows, we’ll always have lots of options for our shooting excursions. And, if the weather permits, we’ll take a sunrise photo cruise on one of the 26 foot pontoon boats on South Lake. Mid-day slide shows and image critiques.
Yosemite Valley in the Fall Oct. 28-31, 2011 / Workshop / $550
The summer crowds have gone home, and as the valley floor begins to quiet down for year’s end, the emergence of the subtle color change of Fall makes this place even more unreal. Join us for a few days of wide-open, nature shooting at it’s finest. We’ve been coming back here year after year, and come back with totally different images each time. It’s easy to see how Ansel Adams could spend so many years shooting here, in this magical valley.
Death Valley Dec. 27-30, 2011 / Workshop / $550
Death Valley, with the sand dunes, salt flats and un-ending shooting possibilities. Our base camp in Death Valley will be at the Stovepipe Wells Village motel. There’s also a campground across the street, along with a gas station, fully stocked general store and a swimming pool. Check our website GALLERY section to see some of the images from last year. There’s also some images posted on our TIPS & TECHNIQUES section…..
Please note – We’d like to remind you that these workshops are in popular areas that have a limited amount of lodging. If you’re thinking of joining us, let us know so we can give you the number to call ahead and reserve a room. Then, if you’re schedule changes, you can always cancel your reservation. This works better than waiting and then finding out that all the rooms are gone –
