Why I Revisit My Favorite Landscapes
I still go to places on my check-list and I still take photographs when I go, but as much as possible I like to return to a place and explore it more thoroughly. It’s easy to get obsessed with trophy hunting. A deeper understanding of a place ultimately yields your best photos.Read More

Nikon Unveils Large-Sensor (APS-C) Coolpix A
Regular readers of OP know that I am a big fan of small cameras that have large image sensors. I like the combination of the big sensor's inherent image quality in a camera that I can carry with me anywhere. In other words, it's like the Millennium Falcon, "...she's got it where it counts!" Today, Nikon has announced the Coolpix A- compact, fixed-lens camera with a 16.2 megapixel Nikon APS-C (Nikon calls it DX-format) CMOS image sensor. It will be available in March 2013 at a suggested retail price of $1099.Advertisement
