Description: A few miles south of the charming town of Carmel, California, Highway 1 winds through a spectacular area of coastline known as Big Sur. With the Santa Lucia Mountains on the east and the rugged coastline winding on the west, spectacular scenes await around every bend. Photographing Big Sur at sunset is a favorite of mine as skies explode in various shades of pastels and show off the immense beauty the West Coast has to offer. As I hiked through Garrapata State Park along the coast, I set up my tripod, eagerly anticipating the sunset. Hoping to capture a shot of the turbulent emerald waters as they crashed into the jagged coastline, I patiently awaited sunset. This particular evening, the sunset didn’t disappoint and created a landscape that was unforgettable.
