“Antelope Valley is located in northern Los Angeles County in the southeastern portion of Kern County, California,” says Dessoliers. “I arrived late afternoon and began scouting the area for a nice field of flowers to capture. After walking through the area, I made my stop at this beautiful field that was densely populated with orange and purple flowers. The incoming sunset light and the lenticular clouds in the sky really brought everything together visually. I set up my gear and began preparing my shot, but I had one challenge to overcome during this shoot, the wind. It was incredibly breezy that day, so taking a photo that wasn't too blurry was definitely a hurdle. To create a sharp image, I had to gradually take shots ranging from the closest point up to beyond the horizon. In post-processing, I manually blended probably a total of 20 shots to achieve the image you see here. Despite not having the most ideal weather conditions, I'm very happy with the way it turned out.” Nikon D810 and Zeiss 35mm Milvus. 1/100 sec., f/11, ISO 320.
