After the Storm
This our latest release, After the Storm, Great Falls National Park, VA
I took a quick trip to Great Falls National Park the other day in hopes of catching some dramatic light as a winter storm that produced snow, ice and rain moved out at sunset. It was a gamble but it paid off nicely in one image from the outing, all I can ever ask for. This is a single exposure using the Nikon 14-24mm and Fotodiox CPL to darken the water and remove glare from the wet rocks. I was able to expose a single RAW with enough detail in both the sky and foreground, gotta love the dynamic range of the Nikon D800. The image was processed in Adobe Lighroom V4. I made adjustments to the white balance, highlight and shadow recovery as well as tweaking the linear curve for global contrast boost and some saturation work (extremely minimal) in the HSL tab.
