Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Alien World” by Bob Faucher. Location: White Pockets, Vermillion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona.
“The White Pockets in Vermilion Cliffs National Monument are steep eroded escarpments consisting primarily of sandstone, siltstone, limestone and shale,” explains Faucher. “These sedimentary rocks have been deeply eroded for millions of years, exposing hundreds of layers of richly colored rock strata. Mesas, buttes and large tablelands are interspersed with steep canyons.”
Equipment & Settings: Canon EOS 5D II; Canon EF 16-35mm @ 18mm; Gitzo tripod; RRS BH-55; RAW capture: f/16 @ 2 sec; ISO 100; Auto Exposure; Evaluative metering; Auto WB.
