Backlight And Silhouettes Assignment Winner Sal DeFini
Congratulations to Sal DeFini for winning the Backlight and Silhouettes Assignment!
“I live in Oxford, CT., and walk along a bridle path that’s next to a marsh where I take many plant and bird photos. My Nikon D7000 with a Nikon 80-400mm lens + 1.4 TC was set on shutter priority at 1/1000 to capture birds in flight and ISO at 1600 as I was losing light. This bird landed on a branch 20-30 feet away and was singing up a storm. It was backlit by the setting sun, which threw the camera’s light meter off and closed the f-stop down to ƒ/32, which created a great silhouette. Post processed in Lightroom with some sharpening & noise reduction. I’m a member of the Oxford Greens Camera Club in Oxford, CT.”
