“This image was taken on an extremely stormy evening on the north shore of Kauai, Hawaii,” explains Andersen. “I find that poor weather always makes for the most dynamic images even if it means standing in the rain and wind. You’ll usually find me out and about when the weather gets scary. The swell was also large on this day, so I knew the ocean would be kicking up some large splashes and interesting motion. This image is a blend of two images: one for the foreground and one for the sky to compensate for the wide dynamic range that this scene had.”
