Bud Walley Gets Photo Of The Day (3/28/2013)
Bud Walley Photographer Shooting Mobius Arch
Congratulations to Bud Walley for today’s Photo Of The Day. Wally submitted the photo to the People In The Landscape Assignment which is open for submissions through April 2. I see a lot of photos of Mobius Arch–it’s on the list of must-see locations for a lot of nature photographers– and this one really stands out. On some days the spot where this photographer is sitting is crowded with people framing the dramatic peaks and ridges of Mt Whitney through the arch. I almost never see the spot from this angle and inculding the photographer in this composition was an excellent decision. The dawn glow largely silhouettes the photographer while the first rays of sunlight over the horizon catch the arch itself. Bud Walley used his Canon EOS 7D with an 18-85mm lens.
I’ll be choosing a Photo Of The Day every day. I’ll be selecting the images from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
