Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Joyful Elements” by Georgia Michalicek. Location: Cathedral Rock, Sedona, Arizona.

“Many photographers shy away from rainy seasons, but in Arizona, we look forward to the few months of monsoon rains with all of its clouds, lightning, thunderstorms, rainbows, and some of the most colorful sunrises and sunsets in the nation,” explains Michalicek. “These usually begin in early July in northern Arizona and end by mid-September. This photograph was taken in late August of 2015 at the iconic red rock formation known as Cathedral Rock in Sedona as the storm cleared, and a rainbow formed as the sun began to set in the west.”
