Endangered Species Recorded By Joel Sartore
In his book, RARE: Portraits of America’s Endangered Species, National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore shows us some of the most at-risk animals on the planet. It’s no secret that species are disappearing at an alarming rate, Sartore has put a face on many of these extraordinary creatures that are on the verge of vanishing forever. In his recent TEDxDeExtinction talk, Sartore talks about his Photo Ark work and his approach to photographing at-risk animals in a portable portrait studio. As he says, the goal is “to get people to care…. Whatever I have to do to get people to care.” Sartore has been doing the Photo Ark photography for more than eight years. The video here shows a mere fraction of the animals he’s photographed and recorded on video and it’s extraordinary.
