Leaf Releases AFi 10 Camera System
“This latest announcement demonstrates the Leaf commitment to developing complete camera systems that adapt to the needs and habits of professional photographers”, said Dov Kalinski, General Manager of Leaf. “With the new internally rotating ‘True Wide Frame’ 56 millimeter sensor, this new AFi system is our most flexible ever. Especially with 56 megapixel range sensors, the best-of-class optics of the AFi system become even more important. These are just a few ways that Leaf elevates professional photography to a new level of excellence.”
‘True Wide Frame’ Sensor
Leaf has developed the exclusive new 56×36 millimeter, 56 megapixel TWF sensor in cooperation with DALSA Corporation, who specialize in digital imaging components. Designed to measure, the TWF sensor fits perfectly into the 6×6 (56x56mm) frame of the Leaf AFi camera. With the Leaf TWF 56mm sensor, Leaf maximizes large and medium-format photography. This enables lenses to regain their full angle of view, something that has not been possible in professional photography since the days of film. The TWF sensor fully integrates with the best-of-class German optics in the AFi. TWF technology is also available in the new Leaf Aptus 10 digital camera back.
Verto Internal Sensor Rotation
Verto internal sensor rotation technology in the new Leaf AFi camera system means no more turning the camera, or even the imaging module, to switch from portrait to landscape orientation. With one finger you can flip the sensor from the horizontal to the vertical plane and back. In addition to its ergonomic and time saving benefits, Verto also makes it possible to take advantage of the full frame 56mm TWF sensor in both orientations.
