Congratulations to Harry Lichtman who won the Liquid Reflections Assignment with his image, “Autumn Majesty.”
“My time in the Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada, was planned to coincide with the Larch display, so I tried to include them in my images whenever possible,” says Lichtman. “I selected this composition to include the backlit Larch trees as well as the peaks reflected in Lake Magog during sunrise. Grizzly bears are always a concern during early mornings or sunset shoots in this area. I was particularly careful as I made my way by headlamp toward a location I had scouted the day before. This particular composition caught my eye by the way the rocks framed the reflection. Post sunrise lighting provided added depth to the landscape features and set the Larch on fire. While there are no roads into this location, the Park can be accessed via helicopter from Canmore, Alberta, or hiking 17 miles from the Mount Shark trailhead via Bryant Creek and over Assiniboine Pass.”
