Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Black Bear On Exit Glacier” by Dawn Wilson. Location: Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska. Camera: Nikon D3S.
“I decided to take a sunset hike up to Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park to hopefully capture some color in the sky above the top of the ice field,” says Wilson. “As I started the trail, several hikers coming down the trail warned me of a black bear on the trail. After I passed the point where the hikers said they saw the bear I didn’t think anything more of the animal. As I arrived at Exit Glacier, a gust of wind carried off my hat. After I grabbed it and placed it back on my head, I turned around and there he was—a black bear walking across the glacier. He paid me no mind as I snapped several shots of him before he wandered off of the top onto the ice field.
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Galleries and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage, Facebook and Twitter. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
