Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Morning Fly Off” by Tom Olejniczak. Location: Merced National Wildlife Refuge, California.
“Thousands of Ross’s and Snow Geese fly from the Arctic and spend the winter months in the Central Valley of California,” explains Olejniczak. “After locating a suitable habitat to spend the winter, these voracious birds fly off each day to adjacent fields and wetlands to feed. After a location has been depleted, they fly off again but return at sunset to settle in for the evening. I use these natural patterns when choosing to make my photos as represented in this photo.”
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Galleries and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
