Bristlecone Pine Cones by Joseph Thomas
Today’s Photo Of The Day is an intimate scene. Bristlecone Pine Cones by Joseph Thomas was sent in to the recent Textures Assignment. Bristlecone Pines are some of the oldest living things on Earth. Usually we see photos of them as knurled, twisted and sinewy trees shown against blue skies as if in defiance of the normal rules of mortality that we’re all subject to. I like this photograph because, in addition to rich tones and textures, it tells a different side of the Bristlecones’ story.
I select a Photo Of The Day everyday. Images come from the OP Galleries like Your Favorite Places, Assignments and the contest galleries. You can see more of my Photo Of The Day selections on the OP Blog.
