Photo Of The Day 8/29/2012
Maple Blanket by Mitch Ridder
It’s hot today in Southern California, but I’m thinking about an upcoming fall weekend trip. Today’s Photo of The Day was taken by Mitch Ridder and submitted to the OP Fall Color Cover Assignment which is still open. Ridder took the photo in Big Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City, Utah. By using a polarizer, he was able to cut glare, saturate the colors and increase the contrast in the scene. When you’re out shooting fall color, a polarizer is your best friend.
We’ve been revamping the OP galleries. Take a look at the Assignments and the Your Favorite Placessections and you’ll see many of the cool new features. You can see all of the submissions and check out all of the other Assignment galleries here. I select a Photo Of The Day everyday. Images come from the OP Galleries like Your Favorite Places, Assignments and the contest galleries. You can see more of my Photo Of The Day selections on the OP Blog.
