Half Dome In The Clouds by Rich Greene
Rich Greene sent today’s Photo Of The Day to the Booming Clouds Assignment which is open for submission until tomorrow (August 7). It immediately caught my attention in the gallery. I’ve seen a lot of photographs of Yosemite Valley and Half Dome in particular, but I don’t recall every seeing one quite like this. When faced with such an iconic location that has been so thoroughly photographed, it’s a challenge to produce images that don’t just blend on with all of the others. Rich Greene took advantage of rapidly changing light and weather to get this photograph. He writes,”The conditions and light can change so fast in winter at Yosemite that its a photographer’s paradise. And usually, no crowds.” Click here to see the complete Booming Clouds Assignment Gallery.
I select a Photo Of The Day everyday. Images come from the OP Galleries like Your Favorite Places,Assignments and the contest galleries. You can see more of my Photo Of The Day selections on the OP Blog.
