Photo Of The Day 9/4/2012
Winter Fugue Yosemite by Robin Black
After a Labor Day break, Photo Of The Day is back! Today’s selection is by Robin Black. The Labor Day weekend was a hot one here in Southern California and I’m thinking cool to avoid having to run the AC at home. Robin Black’s magnificent photograph of a winter scene in Yosemite is the perfect visual antidote to the heat. Black describes getting this photograph, “I’ve photographed the stately old elm in Cook’s Meadow more times now than I can count–but it has never looked as beautiful as it did this morning with a ghostly Half Dome rising behind it, obscured every few minutes by storm clouds.” The photograph was submitted to the recent Snow & Ice Assignment.
Take a look at the newly revamped Assignments and the Your Favorite Places sections of the website and you’ll see some cool new features. You can see all of the submissions and check out all of the other Assignment galleries here. I select a Photo Of The Day everyday. Images come from the OP Galleries like Your Favorite Places, Assignments and the contest galleries. You can see more of my Photo Of The Day selections on the OP Blog.
