Photo of The Day by Aaron Reed
Firestarter by Aaron Reed
Aaron Reed submitted today’s Photo Of The Day to the Fall Color Assignment. “This image was captured on a fall color scouting mission with my wife last Saturday October 12th,” Reed says. “It was captured on Highway 2 in Washington state approx 20 miles west of Leavenworth, WA. We arrived just before dawn and waited for the light to highlight the fog just right at first light. It was captured with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. The exposure was 3 seconds at f/16 and ISO 100. It has quickly became a favorite image of mine.”
Equipment: Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC lens, Really Right Stuff TV23, BH40 and L bracket.
The Fall Color Assignment is open through the end of October. I select a Photo Of The Day every day. I choose the images from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
