Photo of The Day By Alex Chamberlain
‘A Flare For The Dramatic’ by Alex Chamberlain
Alex Chamberlain submitted today’s Photo Of The Day to the Your Best Photo Of 2013 Assignment. Chamberlain describes how he got this photo, “After an evening shooting the Toadstool Hoodoos in Utah, my friend and I retired for the night only to be awakened at 4am by a lightning storm the likes of which we had seldom seen. We jogged back to the hoodoos and spent the rest of the dark part of the morning shooting the lightning behind the formations.” The wild lightning exhibition, brilliantly lit storm clouds and graphic rock formation silhouettes all come together in this photo. Chamberlain used a Canon EOS 60D with a Canon EF-S 10-22 lens.
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage and several images from the Assignment Gallery are picked to be featured in The Best Of Assignments section in the print magazine. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
