‘Bald Eagle In Flight’ by Angie Middleton
Angie Middleton submitted today’s Photo of the Day to the Catching Air Assignment, which is open until midnight March 18th.
“Winter is perhaps one of the best times to encounter and photograph bald eagles on the Homer Spit in Homer, Alaska, which is located in Southcentral. They feed on remains of salmon and are prevalent in numbers. On this particular sunny day, I was lucky to photography many of them in flight after they had fed on salmon,” says Middleton, who used a Canon EOS 40D with a 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L lens.
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage and several images from the Assignment Gallery are picked to be featured in The Best Of Assignments section in the print magazine. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
