Today’s Photo of the Day is “Gasadalur” by Bill Sisson. Location: Faroe Islands.

“Gasadalur is an iconic location in the Faroe Islands,” explains Sisson. “It features mountains, seaside cliffs, a plummeting waterfall and the small villages that are emblematic of the Faroes. On this particular afternoon, a strong wind sweeping in from the ocean was often shrouding the waterfall in mist and bending the waterfall sideways. While I wanted to use a long exposure to smooth out the ocean waves, I also had to use a short enough exposure to capture any brief lull in the wind. After trial and error with various exposure settings, I settled on a six-second exposure and captured this image.”
